Alfio Albasini

Alfio Albasini is a physiotherapist who graduated in 1991 at the School of Physiotherapy in Basel Switzerland. In 1995 he did his Post Graduate Diploma in Manual Therapy in Perth WA, at the Curtin University of Technology.

Since 1996 he treated his patients in his own clinic in Bellinzona, Ticino Switzerland, and he teach, part-time, Manual Therapy at the School of Physiotherapy, USI, Università della Svizzera Italiana.

Since 1997, after being assistant for three years in Zurzach, Centre of Post Graduate Courses in Switzerland, for the Maitland Concept, he became officially McConnell Instructor. He now teach the McConnell Concept in different countries in the world, like South America, South Africa, Middle East and Europe in six different languages.

Since 1999, he is Instructor at the Swiss Association of Soccer (SFV) as an expert in physiotherapy of sport medicine.

Since 2006, Alfio is personal assistant of Michael Shacklock, NDS, Neurodynamic Solutions, in different workshops in the world and he can teach his method since the beginning of 2009.

Alfio is member of  Research and Development (Clinical Excellence Circle), Otto Bock Health Care since 2006.

Since 2006, Alfio is consultant in Doha, Qatar, at Aspetar Hospital and Aspire, Sport Academy.

In 2005 and in 2009 he was the principal chairman of the scientific committee and organizer of the first and second world Manual Therapy Congress, “The Spine” held in Roma, Italy.

He has been invited internationally in numerous congresses in the world as a speaker and for different workshops and seminars.

Since 2007, Alfio works together with Kim Robinson and Toby Hall, fellows from Manual Concept and Curtin University, teaching at their program, “The COMT” in different countries in Europe and Middle East.

In 2009, Alfio was invited at the head quarter of Real Madrid to present a six days course divided in several sections to the medical team.

In February 2011 and 2013, Alfio was invited at the JFK, National Manual Therapy Congress in Marseille and Paris (France) to present the McConnell Concept.

In October 2011 he presented at the National Physiotherapy Congress of Physiotherapy in Hungary.

In December 2011, Alfio has joined as a member the  Vasyli Think Tank™  group.

In June 2012, he has presented at the national orthopaedic surgeons congress in Györ, Hungary, the conservative management of anterior knee pain.

In October 2012 and 2013, he was keynote speaker at the Catalunia Congress in Barcelona. In 2012 he presented Anterior Knee Pain, how can we treat it from a conservative point of view ? In 2013, his exposure was: ”Shoulder Dysfunction, what do we know about it and how can we treat effectively” ?

In November 2013 he was presenting at the “Les Mains Libres” congress in Lausanne. LBP, what can we do for conservative management.

In 2014, June, he presented in Berlin at the 2^nd  “True Med” Congress: the title of the presentation was “Calf Pain, what is soft tissue release doing “.

In November 2014, he presented at the national congress in Katowice, Poland, as keynote speaker, “Two decades of patellar taping, how far are we now and what did we learn” ? Clinical workshop.

In April 2015, he presented at the Orthopedic Surgeon Conference in Hannover, “conservative management of knee pain”.

In September 2015, he was invited to present “shoulder pain how do we treat it” in Beirut at the National Congress of Physiotherapy Lebanon.

In September 2016, he had a presentation in Kaposvar, Hungary, at the National Orthopaedic Surgeon Congress, about conservative management of shoulder pain.

In October, he presented at the International Congress in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia different workshops as well as an oral presentations regarding on anterior knee pain.

In January 2017, Alfio presented at the annual QPRC, Doha Qatar, 2 days congress on knee and shoulder dysfunction.

In October 2017, he presented at Fisioforum, congress of Physiotherapy held in Rome, Italy.

In Febbraio 2018, Alfio had several horal presentations at the National Congress in Algeria.

In March 2018, Alfio presented at the National Japanese conference, Tokyo, Anterior Knee Pain,  a Multimodal Treatment Approach

In May, 2018, he had two oral presentations at the international conference of Shoulder Problems, in Nice France and two practical workshops.

In September 2018, Alfio presented, at the international conference of the orthopaedic surgeon in Budapest Hungary.

In October 2018, he was moderating and presenting at Fisioforum in Rome, Italy

In October 2018, he spoke at the “Neural Day” at the University of Lausanne di Medicine Center CHUV, Switzerland.

In April 2019, Alfio was invited at the Foot Day, Clinique du Pied Centre Assal Genève Switzerland, in order to present 4 workshops and an horal presentation.
